Girls in ICT day celebrated at TATT
International Girls in ICT Day aims to encourage and empower girls and young women to consider studies and careers in the growing field of ICTs, enabling both girls and technology companies to reap the benefits of greater female participation in the ICT sector.

A team from Caribbean Airlines attended the 2019 International Girls in ICT Day. The team was happy to interact and connect with the students who expressed a keen interest in Information Technology (IT) and aviation.
Sixty (60) female students from San Fernando East, San Fernando Central and the Pleasantville Secondary Schools were selected to be a part of Girls in ICT Day which took place at the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) headquarters in Barataria, Trinidad on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 April.

Celebrated every year on the fourth Thursday in April, the 2019 edition carried the theme ‘Tech Savvy Girls – Expanding Horizons, Changing Attitudes’.
Girls in ICT Day is primarily driven to reduce the persistent gender gap and increase the representation of women in the tech industry.

International Girls in ICT Day is celebrated every year on the fourth Thursday of April and will next be observed on 23 April 2020.
The ITU Secretary General invites everyone to organize events attracting as many girls and young women as possible.
