Hangar Tours

Caribbean Airlines’ Hangar tours started around 2009 at its base in Piarco, Trinidad, after our team began connecting with students at various career days hosted externally at schools.

Our Hangar Tour consists of a:

  • Quick interactive tour of either the ATR72-600 or B737-8 aircraft (whichever is grounded at the time in the Hangar for maintenance).
  • After a warm Caribbean Welcome, students get to first view the shell of the aircraft before being taken into the cabin, where they experience economy and first class. They also get the opportunity to explore the cockpit.
  • While seated in the cabin, there is a question-and-answer segment where students get a chance to ask any questions they may have about the aircraft or generally about career options within the aviation industry.
  • Once the Hangar tour is complete the tour heads next to the “Technical Support Shops” for a demonstration of the airline’s Life Raft (often utilized in crew training sessions). This is usually a fun-fulfilled activity for students and teachers who get to climb into the raft to experience the “feel”. Plus, a Life Vest demo is also done much to the delight of the students

The aim of the airline’s Hangar Tours is to:

  • Raise awareness about available career opportunities in the airline industry
  • Allow children and youth to have live viewing of the aircraft- an opportunity that many of them have not been exposed to
  • Offer direction and career guidance to the youth, recognizing their pivotal role in shaping the future of the country and the Caribbean region.

How many tours does Caribbean Airlines offer for the school calendar year?
