Caribbean Airlines Sponsors the University of Toronto’s Black History Month Celebrations

Caribbean Airlines was a proud sponsor of the University of Toronto’s  Black History month celebrations, a 20 year tradition that recognizes and highlights black history and black excellence.

Held on February 28th, the event featured “a multicultural luncheon paired with African  and Caribbean Entertainment” and was “open to the University of Toronto Community, students, staff, alumni, faculty and friends wishing to celebrate Black excellence,” the University stated.

Having evolved  from grassroots beginnings” into a two-part hybrid  event, the initiative was held in conjunction with the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) and attracted over 5,900 attendees this year.

A number of corporate stakeholders, inclusive of  Caribbean Airlines, supported this year’s celebrations. Our airline donated  two prize tickets for travel between Jamaica and Toronto. Lucky winner Funke Aladejebi, Associate Professor Department of History at the University of Toronto (in photo left), walked away with the coveted prize.

Here are some highlights.
