On March 14 2025 the Environmental Management Authority(EMA) celebrated its 30th anniversary  of service to  Trinidad and Tobago  and on the occasion also honored  and recognized several women who have made lasting and significant contributions to T&T ‘s  environment.
The event , for which Caribbean Airlines was a proud sponsor,  spotlighted the crucial contributions of at least 30 women working across diverse fields such as advocacy, climate change, volunteerism, policy, education, biodiversity and media.
The EMA said that by honoring and recognising the work of  these outstanding  women it hoped  “to inspire future generations of women to lead the charge of addressing the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.”
Hosted  at  the Trinidad Hilton and Conference Centre, the event was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning  and Development and featured remarks from the Honourable Pennelope Beckles, Minister of Planning and Development who also congratulated the women on their longstanding contributions and outstanding work as stewards of the environment.
