On March 14th the Environmental Management Authority(EMA) celebrated its 30th anniversary of service to Trinidad and Tobago and on the occasion also honored and recognized several women who have made lasting and significant contributions to T&T ‘s environment.
The event , for which Caribbean Airlines was a proud sponsor, spotlighted the crucial contributions of at least 30 women working across diverse fields such as advocacy, climate change, volunteerism, policy, education, biodiversity and media.
The EMA said that by honoring and recognising the work of these outstanding women it hoped “to inspire future generations of women to lead the charge of addressing the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.”
Hosted at the Trinidad Hilton and Conference Centre, the event was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning and Development and featured remarks from the Honourable Pennelope Beckles, Minister of Planning and Development who also congratulated the women on their longstanding contributions and outstanding work as stewards of the environment.
