CARIBBEAN AIRLINES CONNECTS WITH SCHOOLS IN GUYANA FOR THE FIRST TIME

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme, Caribbean Airlines held virtual Career Guidance sessions with students at Mae’s Primary School and Queens College in Guyana in December 2021.

It was the first time that we piloted our “Caribbean Lift Off” initiative in the South American nation.

Over 200 enthusiastic pupils from Mae’s Primary School logged in to the virtual session on December 01. The students learned about various career options in the industry and were encouraged to work hard to accomplish their goals and dreams. Caribbean Airlines team also shared information on careers in aviation with students at Queens College on Dec 02.

Caribbean Airlines’ team of presenters included (from left to right  in photo above)  Stacey Moriah Customer Service Agent Guyana,  Dion Inniss Caribbean Sales Executive Guyana,  and Tarelle Julien, Flight Attendant based in Trinidad.

In commenting on the activities, Dionne Ligoure, Caribbean Airlines Head of Corporate Communications said: “Caribbean Airlines was happy to connect with scores of young people from these well-established institutions. Guyana continues to be a significant destination for Caribbean Airlines, and it was a genuinely rewarding experience connecting with these future leaders.”

She continued: “We are delighted that the technology is allowing us to reach young people across the destinations we serve. Since the beginning of the school term in 2020, in keeping with our corporate social responsibility programme, Caribbean Airlines has virtually connected with an increasing number of  schools, not just in the region, but also in North America.”
