Caribbean Airlines making a difference in communities, impacting lives
Not only can you depend on our Inflight crew to share the warmth of the Caribbean while flying, but you can count on them to show genuine love and care for the well-being of others even when off duty, as this is characteristic of their true Caribbean Spirit.
Caribbean Airlines’ Kingston-based Inflight Team members undertook a number of selfless initiatives during nationwide Covid-19 lockdown restrictions in early 2020 in Jamaica, pooling their resources together to donate much needed food supplies to a single mother, and also digging into their pockets to make a generous contribution to the Kingston Public Hospital.
Officials and medical practitioners at the hospital were grateful to the crew for their monetary contribution , donated specifically to help combat the Covid-19 virus.
Our Kingston crew, led by cabin crew supervisor Norma Williams, further spearheaded a “Frontline Workers Salute ” to honor and recognise some 50 doctors and nurses at said hospital. In similar vein, they also honored 11 members of staff at the National Chest Hospital in Kingston , as part of a targeted series of community events undertaken, to make a positive difference, during the nationwide Covid-19 lockdown period in that country.
Positive Response to Blood bank Call
But the crew didn’t stop there. When the Ministry of Health made a desperate appeal to Jamaican citizens to heed the call of the Blood Bank, as supplies went almost to zero, 22 of our Kingston based Cabin Attendants responded to the call, without hesitation.
And as the pandemic raged on negatively impacting the lives of many citizens, our crew responded to a social media outcry for help by a single mother of twins, and donated a truck load of food and supplies, much to the relief of the appreciative mother.
For their efforts they have since been awarded the Caribbean Airlines “Community Staff Award” . Congratulations to the team!
