A key element of sustainable business is social responsibility.
The International Organization for Standardization, as part of its work on ISO 26000 and 26001, defines social responsibility as “the responsibility of an organisation for the impacts of its decisions and activities on society and the environment, through transparent and ethical behaviour.”
In keeping with these guidelines, we define Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as follows:
- Conducting all business in a socially responsible and ethical manner
- Protecting the environment and the safety of people
- Supporting human and animal rights
- Allowing our staff, stakeholders and partner communities to have a voice
- Engaging, learning from, respecting and supporting the communities and cultures with which we work and promote
In alignment with this definition, Caribbean Airlines will ensure that all CSR matters are supported in our operations and are consistent with the Company’s best interests.
As a responsible flag carrier, regional airline and corporate body, Caribbean Airlines is committed to being acknowledged as a leader in sustainable business practices and recognizes that in so doing, the airline will add significant value to the people of the Caribbean .
Additionally, Caribbean Airlines aims to foster stronger relationships with our customers, suppliers, partner communities, regulatory authorities, the public and other valued stakeholders based on mutual trust, understanding and respect.
