Caribbean Airlines leads in Reggae Sumfest Beach Clean Up at Catherine Hall, Montego Bay

Just under 2,500 pounds of waste was removed from the beach at Catherine Hall, Montego Bay Jamaica

Caribbean Airlines led the charge at the Reggae Sumfest’s annual Beach Clean-Up  held at   Catherine Hall, Montego Bay on Saturday June 17, 2023. Just under 2,500 pounds of garbage was  removed from the beach’s coastline during the  exercise, which forms part of the Sumfest 2023 activities .

Caribbean Airlines’ team  was also credited with collecting the most amount of garbage during the exercise.

 

The airline extends kudos to team members from its Reservations Department, Ticket office, Airport and Cargo department who volunteered to be part of the initiative,  which is in its third year and provides an opportunity for a variety of stakeholders to join with the entertainment company to clean the space.

The waste collected included a variety of items made from plastic, tires, old appliances, furniture and others that have either been washed down the beach through a variety of channels or directly by the actions of individuals.
